100.7 The Bay had the pleasure of working with Legendary Cartoonist Ron Campbell when we did the Classic Rock Art Show in Hunt Valley. These photos are from 2014.

A note from Classic Rock Art Show’s Scott Segalbaum: It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have received news that famed animator/producer/director/storyboard artist Ron Campbell has passed away at age 81.  Ron’s career began In 1958 with cartoons such as Popeye, Beetle Bailey, Krazy Kat in his native Australia.  His career spanned the entire golden age of Saturday Morning Cartoons, lasting 50 years.  He retired in 2008 with the show Ed, Edd, n Eddy.  Making cartoon films was something Ron had dreamed of since he was 6 years old when he learned that the short films of Tom & Jerry that he saw in the theaters were only drawings.

Some of the many cartoons in which Ron had his hand in include: The Beatles feature film, Yellow Submarine, The Saturday Morning Beatles Cartoon Series, Scooby-Doo, Smurfs, Rugrats, Flintstones, Jetsons, Yogi Bear, Winnie the Pooh, Cool McCool, Sesame Street, The Big Blue Marble, George of the Jungle, Super Chicken, Tom Slick, Captain Caveman, Harlem Globetrotters, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Rocket Power, Aah! Real Monsters, Talespin, Duckman, Winkey Dink and You….to name just a few!

Please contact Scott Segelbaum directly for a few remaining Ron Campbell hand signed art pieces in his inventory.  They are currently available at https://www.rockartshow.com/collections/animation until they are sold out.  Scott  also have a few original paintings available if you are interested in learning about them at scott@rockartshow.com or (610) 389-1807.
