Metallica have announced their 12th studio album, ’72 Seasons,’ will drop on April 14th, and are sharing the first single from the LP, titled ‘Lux Æterna’. The band have also announced the massive M72 World Tour for 2023-2024.
Metallica’s M72 World Tour includes two nights in each city, promising a “no repeat weekend” of two different sets and two different opening acts. The M72 tour ‘will feature a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the “I Disappear” full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age.’ Supporting acts throughout the tour includes Architects, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Pantera, Volbeat and Greta Van Fleet. A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation.
The European leg of the world tour kicks-off in Amsterdam on April 27, 2023, making stops in Paris, Hamburg and Gothenburg before continuing onto North America. The band will then return to Europe for the second leg through July 2024, followed by additional dates in North America. Two-day tickets will be on sale Friday, December 2nd via Ticketmaster. Single day tickets will be available beginning January 20th. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets in the US beginning Wednesday, November 30th at 2 pm local time until Thursday, December 1st at 10 pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program.
