Foo Fighters swept the Grammy rock categories during the pre-show at the Grammy Awards, held at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Conference Marquee Ballroom. The group won best rock album for Medicine at Midnight, best rock song for “Waiting on a War” and best rock performance for “Making a Fire.”
Medicine at Midnight debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and No. 3 on The Billboard 200, while “Waiting on a War,” “Making a Fire” and first single “Shame Shame” all hit the top of the Mainstream Rock tally.
After the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters announced last week that they were canceling all future performances. A tribute to the late drummer was held tonight during the Grammys telecast.
