Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County- Threads of Compassion Knitting/Crocheting Circle

Second Monday of each month at the Westminster library, starting at 7:00PM
Threads of Compassion provide scarves to victims of sexual assault as a token of solidarity. The group is open to all skill levels. Even if you have never knitted or crocheted before we encourage you to join us. Please bring your own yarn and needles/hooks.

Frederick Celtic Festival

Hosted by the St. Andrews Society of Mid-Maryland.

The 11th annual Frederick Celtic Festival is coming to Maryland, offering a day of family fun, entertainment and education, with a full program of Celtic music, vendors, food, demonstrations and Highland games.

Mary 8th, 2010 at the Frederick Fairgrounds. 797 East Patrick St., Frederick, MD.

This year the Frederick Celtic Festival has signed up with the American Cancer Society. A portion of their proceeds will be donated to further the research for a cure for cancer.

Hospice Care Support Groups:

The Gilchrist Center of Baltimore is offering  monthly support groups, bringing togeither a broad range of  individuals dealing with grief in their life. The following is a list of upcoming group meetings:

                                                                             

- Widowed Parents/Life Partners of SChool Aged Children: Wednesday 13th, 2010 from 6:30-8:00pm./ Wednesdays beginning February 24th - March 31st from 1:30-3:00 pm. 

- Understanding Grief: January 14, 2010 from 6:00-7:30 PM/ February 8, 2010 from 6:00-7:30 pm.

- Mothers Grief Support Group: Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 from 3:00-4:30 pm. / February 10th, 2010 from 3:00-4:30 pm.

- Sibling Loss Grief  Workshop: Wednesday, February 10th from 6:00-7:30 pm.

- Adults with Parental Loss: six consecutive tuesdays beginning January 12th - February 16th from  6:00 am - 7:30 pm.

- Young Widowed Persons/Life Partner Grief Support: Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 PM beginning February 4th - March 11th.

Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue

Angel Acres is small horse rescue, with nationwide reach, dedicated to saving slaughter bound horses.  Angel Acrees also assists in cases of equine abuse, neglect, and abandonment. This non-profit organization is located just over the MD line in Glenville, PA. and run by Jo Deibel with an all volunteer staff.
